Privacy policy

Last updated September 28, 2026

This policy describes the information Endless Seats collects, why, and who it is shared with. It covers the website at endlessseats.com, the Endless Seats app, and the box office a school district places on its own website. Endless Seats is operated by [PLACEHOLDER: legal entity name].

No student data

Endless Seats does not collect student data. We do not ask for or keep student names, student ID numbers, grades, schedules, or anything from a student's education record. The only people we collect information about are ticket buyers, people who receive a transferred ticket, and district staff. A ticket type named "Student" is a price category; we do not record who attends.

What we collect

When you buy tickets: your name, your email address, and your phone number if you give one; the event, the tickets, the amounts paid (ticket price, ticket fee, processing fee), and when the order was paid. If you are signed in, the order is linked to your account.

Card payments: you enter your card on the payment processor's form or page. We never receive or store your card number. We keep the processor's reference for the payment and whether it succeeded or was refunded.

When you transfer a ticket: the recipient's email address, your email address, and the state of the transfer.

When you sign in: sign-in is provided by Clerk, which holds your account. We receive your account id and the email addresses and phone numbers verified on it, and use them to find the tickets bought with those contacts.

Followed schools: if you follow a school in the app, we keep the list of schools you follow, linked to your account.

Location: the "near me" search asks your browser for your location and uses it to sort results by distance. The coordinates travel in the page address and are not saved to your account.

At the gate: when staff scan a ticket, we record the time and which staff account scanned it.

District staff: the name and email address on your account. When a district sets up payments, the district's business address, phone, and email and the signer's name, email, and phone are sent to the payment processor. No Social Security number or date of birth is collected.

Usage analytics: we use PostHog. On the website it records the pages you view and the links and buttons you use. On the website and in the app it records your browser or device type and a random identifier stored on your device, and derives an approximate location from your IP address. Both record steps in the purchase flow (searched, viewed an event, saw a price, started an order, paid) with ids and counts only. Your name, email address, phone number, ticket codes, and search text are never sent with these events. Because search terms and "near me" coordinates are in the page address, they can appear in the page views PostHog records.

Error reports: when something breaks, the website, app, and our servers send error details to Sentry, and our servers also send them to PostHog. A server error report includes the request's IP address and browser type.

Cookies: Clerk sets cookies to keep you signed in, and PostHog stores its identifier in a cookie and in your browser's storage. The box office embedded on a district's website has no sign-in, so it sets no Clerk cookies. PostHog records page views in it and stores its identifier in your browser the same way.

How we use it

  • To take payment, issue your tickets, and email them to you.
  • To show your tickets when you sign in, and to deliver transfers.
  • To let the district see its orders, issue refunds, and check tickets in at the gate.
  • To answer your questions and to measure, fix, and improve Endless Seats.

We do not sell personal information and we do not show ads.

Who we share it with

  • The district that runs the event. Its administrators see each order's buyer name, email address, phone number, and amounts. Its gate staff can look up a ticket by the holder's name or email address.
  • Service providers that run Endless Seats for us: the district's payment processor (card payments and refunds), Clerk (sign-in), Resend (order confirmation, transfer, and staff welcome emails), PostHog (analytics and error reports), Sentry (error reports), Neon (database), and Microsoft Azure (hosting).
  • When the law requires it.

Your choices

  • You can buy tickets without creating an account.
  • A phone number is optional at checkout.
  • You can decline location access and search by name instead.
  • To ask about the information we hold about you, email hello@endlessseats.com.
